What an exclusive 1v1 draft changes

PickXI makes scarcity the game. There is one copy of each player in the contest. Drafting a batter is also denying your opponent that batter. That is closer to how selection actually works in cricket: you cannot have the same all-rounder bowling and batting for both sides.

The draft happens before the first ball, with a 30-second timer on each turn. Miss the clock and the turn is skipped. That keeps the contest honest. You cannot stall, and you cannot hide behind a pre-made template that everyone else also used.

After the XI is locked, live scoring follows the real match. The higher unique XI wins. There is no betting and no real-money wagering. The only stake is whether you read the squad better.

Where skill actually shows up

Skill in PickXI is not a slogan. It is forced by the rules:

  • Opportunity cost. Taking the obvious star may gift your opponent the exact matchup specialist.
  • Role reading. Who actually bowls the 19th over tonight? That answer is worth more when only one of you can own them.

  • Denial. Sometimes the winning pick is the player you take so your friend cannot.
